Rules and Regulations
2016 Season

*all rules with * are new or have been updated
The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members. The Pool Manager ( Board Member on call )  and Lifeguards  are authorized to require those violating any rules or regulations to leave the pool.

Safety:
There will be a (15) minute rest period every hour on the hour for all swimmers under 18 years old. This means out of water and sitting down. *No One is to be in baby pool during break
Glass and other breakable objects are not permitted in or near pool area.
There shall be no running, pushing, wrestling, or causing undue disturbance or hazard in or about the pool area. The manager or lifeguards at their discretion shall decide what actions constitute a disturbance or hazard.
Only one person on the diving board at a time and no hanging or bouncing on the diving board.
The lifeguard stand(s) are to be used exclusively by the lifeguards. There will be no un-necessary conversation with the lifeguards while they are on duty.
Swimming devices and aids will be allowed at the discretion of lifeguards.
NO intoxicating drinks may be brought onto the club premises at any time. Coolers are subject to be checked. NO person under the influence of alcohol may be admitted.
Children under the 12 years of age will not be permitted in the pool area unless accompanied by an adult, sibling or babysitter 14 years of age or older.
Members and guest(s) will be required to take and pass a prescribed swim test before entering deep end of pool. ( Exception: must have coastguard approved life vest, if under 8, an adult must be in deep end with child in life vest)
*Baby Pool is for children ages 10 and under and/or under 40 inches in height.



Health:
All swimmers must take a shower before entering the pool.
All persons, especially children , are requested to use the restroom facilities before entering the pool. All children in diapers must wear swimmers wile in pool.
Admission shall be refused to anyone with skin eruptions, open wounds, coughs, colds, inflamed eyes, infections or wearing bandages. Upon competent medical advice, certain exceptions may be made.
NO smoking, eating, or drinking allowed in pool. *No food or beverages allowed in baby pool area
All cigar, cigarette butts, trash, etc. must be placed in proper receptacles ( smoking 18 yrs and up). At end of any rest period deemed necessary by the lifeguards, the pool area will be cleaned by “Litter Bugs” before swimming will be continued.
NO pets are permitted inside the fenced pool area.
All swimmers must wear standard bathing suits ( NO street clothes, cutoff  jeans, gym shorts). *NO SEE THROUGH BATHING SUITES

Guest:
Guest Fee is $5.00 . (* ALL guest must pay fee)
There will be a guest card on file at the pool for each membership and guest must register upon entry.
All guest(s) will be issued a hand stamp while visiting the pool.

*Parties consist of 8 or more people in your group ( excluding those on membership) You will be charged $140.00 for party and must be paid before you can return to pool.



General:
If requested by Pool Staff, a member must give his or her name, which can be checked against a master listing if needed.
Unauthorized  use of membership loaned to a non-member who used the pool or pool area shall be fined $100.00. Pool privileges will be suspended until fine is paid.
Rules and regulations will be posted on bulletin board on pool property. Posting on bulletin board of rule changes will be sufficient notice to all members.
Dues must be paid in full by opening day by members each season prior to using the facilities of the club.

Pool Hours:
Monday through Saturday 12noon-8pm and 1pm-6pm Sunday ( hours are subject to change). All club premises must be cleared 30 minutes after closing.
At no time will there be any use of the pool unless supervised by a lifeguard.
The pool will be closed when necessary for maintenance and also at the discretion of the manager/lifeguards on duty during inclement weather.

Miscellaneous
Babysitters, regularly employed by a member , shall be allowed to attend with members’   children at pool facilities, provided they are properly registered ( form on file).
Babysitter fee of $50.00 must be paid in full before they can use pool facilities.

Memberships:
Memberships are as follows:
Membership consists of a family, couple, or single living in your household.
Family consists of a couple or single parent  with unmarried children 21 years of age or younger living in the same household.

*All Members must be in good standing to have rights and benefits of pool. Any member who opts out of membership without paying the full amount that is stated on the membership form signed by member will relinquish all rights and benefits and cannot return or come as guest until all dues are paid.


Rule Change:
 Pool Staff will recommend any changes in pool  rules to the Board of Directors for approval.
Any suggestions for improving operation, safety, or benefit of the Corporation in any way may be submitted to the Pool Staff in writing and subsequently submitted to the Board of Directors.
Staff:
The duties of the Swimming Pool Manager ( Board Member on Call) are those that concern the general operation and running of the swimming pool, including lifeguards.
General swimming pool operation problems such as ordering supplies for general operation , safety rules in conjunction with the Board of Directors are the Lifeguards on duty  responsibilities (and Board member on call if need).
The staff should operate only with the consent of the Board of Directors in the changes of major policy, such as daily pool hours, open and closing dates for the season and restrictions of use of pool. The Lifeguards will maintain close contact with Board Member on call to interpret what should be considered major policy changes.
The Lifeguards will be responsible for day to day operations which include such things as washing down aprons, cleaning pool, operating filter system, checking water, picking up trash , washing out shower rooms, using vacuum equipment in pool  as seen necessary for the general well being of the pool operation.
Enough lifeguards will be hired to ensure safety of the swimmers and the burden of general duties will not be too heavy on the one person at anytime.
* Lifeguards have full authority over pool and will use their authority to best benefit the interest and safety of pool.

Food & Beverages:
Outside food and beverages will be allowed in pool facilities. You may also purchase food and beverages from the pool snack bar. Members may set up a pre-paid account. ( you may not charge to your account if funds are not available)
*IF you bring outside food in, must carry trash out. (pizza boxes, drink boxes, etc. )

*Plates, Cups, Utensils are for concession stand customers only

Private/Birthday Parties:
You may schedule a Birthday, Team, or Youth Group Party, etc. with us. ( Southside does not close pool to members during time of party)
There is a facility rental charge. Lifeguard charge if before or after normal pool hours.
There is a $50 non-refundable deposit made at time of scheduling party.
*Parties are $140.00 (2hours 2 lifeguards max 50 people) anything over 2 hours is $50 hr anything over 50 people add a third guard and $10 per hour

Parties must be reserved 2 weeks in advance so we have enough staff on hand.
To have a party you must schedule with Southside Swim Club. If a member has a party without scheduling there will be a $100.00 charge and your membership will be suspended until paid.
After your scheduled time of party is over all guest must leave, unless pool members. Non member guest may stay if they pay the guest fee.
Any party that does not breakdown and clean up after scheduled time will be charged and an extra $50.00.
CHAIRS:
*Any chair that has pool or open pool chair on it is open for anyone to sit in.
*Any chair that is left at the pool at end of season is a donation to pool( must be picked up on last day of operation.
Lost and found:
*Any items that are left at pool and not picked up by last operating day will be donated or thrown away.

Violations:
The following penalties for all reported violations of rules under “ Pool Rules and Regulations” will be imposed , as approved by the Board of Directors: If repetitive offenders after warnings : First Offense-One week Suspension; Second Offense- One Month Suspension; Third Offense- Seasonal Suspension

It is the responsibility of every member to report any of the violations listed above to the lifeguard on duty . If out of control of lifeguards ability , board member on call will be notified.
THE CLUB WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY OF ANY MEMBER OR GUEST OR OTHERWISE.
LOSSES SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED
